What I love so much about photography is being welcomed into these big, important moments in people’s lives. As a wedding and motherhood photographer, I feel like I get to celebrate all of life’s joys with my clients; from their engagements and weddings, to their pregnancies, births, and first portrait sessions of their babies! Getting to share in that joy is truly what I love the most about this job. I think all the time about what a blessing it is to be able to be a part of these moments, and for a while now I’ve wanted to do something to give something in return. So, at the beginning of the year I decided to do a Wedding Photography Giveaway and I asked people all over Oregon and the internet to send me the story of their love. I received so many amazing entries, but when I read what Lauren wrote about her relationship with Grant, I literally felt chills!
In her email, Lauren wrote “My toes, fingers and nose are frozen. The snow is insulating the most beautiful silence. All I can hear is the waterfall and Grant’s words, “will you marry me?” Every moment we have shared goes through my mind. I remember back to 6th grade when I met Grant. I remember our first dance at the homecoming senior year, and the feeling that this guy was something special. I remember the hurt I felt, as he had to leave to BYU while I was at OSU. We have been though it all and I love this man. As I look at his handsome face while he is down on one knee all that can come out is “Are you serious?” uttered through the tears. Completely alone just the two of us in this moment, but my whole life feels so complete when I am in his arms.”
Lauren and Grant’s love is so sweet and so pure. They care so deeply for each other, and I knew just from reading what Lauren wrote, that they had the kind of love that lasts a lifetime! I am so excited to see these two get married, and I feel so honored to be able to be a small part of their wedding day.
These two love to adventure and really wanted their session to involve water or an incredible view, and I knew that the Columbia Gorge would be the perfect place! We met for their engagement session along the beautiful Columbia River, and ended the night with breathtaking views of the Gorge from the top of Crown Point!
