These two are the winners of my wedding photography giveaway, and I’m so excited to share their wedding with you guys today! Lauren and Grant are the kind of people who make you feel like you’re lifelong friends, even if you’ve just met. They are both full of kindness, love openly, and care deeply for the people they’ve surrounded themselves with. A fact I could see clearly as all of their friends and loved ones laughed, cried, and celebrated with them on their wedding day. One thing Lauren said to me as we were preparing to photograph her wedding day was that she really wanted to “look back and feel the day.” That phrase truly resonated with me, and struck a chord with why I started wedding photography in the first place; to tell the story of one of the biggest days in a person’s life.
Lauren got ready for her wedding day at a beautiful Airbnb rental in Philomath. She wore an incredible, custom made vintage lace gown, and complimented it with simple and purposeful details. Her best friends helped her into her dress and veil, and then we were off to Beazell Barn to meet Grant for their first look. I was so glad when Lauren and Grant told me they wanted to do a first look, because not only does it give us more time for photography, but it’s also a special opportunity to have a private, tender moment and really take in what the day is all about (not to mention, when it’s just the bride and groom, he’s usually a lot more comfortable showing his emotions)!
During their ceremony, there wasn’t a dry eye in sight as Lauren and Grant shared their love and promises for each other! As part of their ceremony, they also chose to have a crowning ceremony, to symbolize the unity of their marriage and the way they will govern and rule over their home as King and Queen, together. It’s not something I’ve ever had the chance to witness or photograph, but it was beautiful to see and I really loved the sentiment of the ritual, and the meaning behind it! Their celebration continued with a big party inside the Beazell barn, lots of dancing, laughter and fun! DJ Party Doctor certainly knows how to get a crowd on their feet, and kept the party going well past sunset!
Lauren and Grant, I hope that as you look back on your wedding day through these images, that you’ll be able to feel the happiness, joy, and love that you felt for each other as you said “I do” and became husband and wife. It was such and honor to be able to photograph your wedding day, and I truly wish you all the happiness as you continue your journey with each other!
