Enchanted Bridal Editorial | Cannon Beach, Oregon

April 23, 2017

If you’ve been following me on social media, you’ve probably seen that I was able to attend a photography workshop in October, hosted by Jeremy Chou. As part of the workshop, we participated in two portrait editorials, and I’m excited to share this bridal editorial with you today! These images were also recently featured on the White Wren, so be sure to head over their to check out what they had to say!

Many people imagine the beach as a sunny and vibrant place, and in the summer that’s something that we get a small glimpse of here in Oregon. But for the majority of the year, the Oregon coast enchants us with it’s deep colors, rich tones, and stormy weather. So it was no surprise to me that a gloomy and rainy day would be the setting for these bridal portraits. Even though rain is a common part of Oregon life, it’s -understandably- not something many brides want as a part of their wedding day. But even though the rain was looming, I was optimistic about the challenge of capturing the scene on film and excited for the opportunity to showcase just how beautiful it can be to embrace the weather and natural beauty of a cloudy Oregon day!

The clouds and rain only added to the allure of the dusty reds and muted blue-greens that made up the color palette for this editorial. Our stylist, Tristan Needham, curated gorgeous elements and colors that wonderfully represented the beauty of the Oregon coast. The flowing gown, soft and deep tones of the bouquet, and hand crafted engagement ring all beautifully complimented the jutting rocks that are a main feature of Cannon Beach. It was truly a pleasure to work with such an amazing creative team and to be able to learn from some of the best in the industry while doing so. The knowledge and experience I gained through this workshop was invaluable, and in the process I was blessed to be able to create some of my most favorite imagery!
