When I first started on this photography journey I mostly photographed for family, friends, coworkers, roommates – whoever I could convince to get behind my camera and let me practice a little. Somewhere along the way I decided to start a ‘blog,’ which acted more like a website, and that eventually turned into this website that you see today. I never felt the need to put myself out there online, because everyone I was photographing already knew me in person.

But nowadays I photograph for a lot of people, like you, who find me through internet searches or facebook, or instagram. And maybe you’ve learned a little bit of what I’m about from the Meet Me section of this site, but you’re probably still thinking “She seems nice, but I don’t know anything about her!”

Well that’s what this post is about. I always make an effort to get to know my clients really well, and I want you to have the same opportunity to get to know me.

So, here are nine random facts about me:

1. I have an obsession with succulents and other indoor plants. We have one lonely Jade plant sitting on our kitchen windowsill, but I have dreams of living in an indoor bungalow with plants hanging from the cupboards and the ceilings, and lining the windowsills. If you follow me on Pinterest, I’m sure you’ve caught on to how much I love those sweet potted plants.

2. I am terrible at making unimportant decisions. Deciding on a career, what college to go to, who to marry – those were easy decisions for me. But ask me what I want for dinner, or which shoes I want to buy, or what I’m going to wear tomorrow and we’ll be there for hours before I can finally make up my mind.

3. The farthest east I have ever been is a tiny town in Idaho called Rexburg, where I went to college. I grew up on the west coast and have spent the majority of my life in Eugene, OR.

4. Most of my extended family lives in France. We’ve never met, but it’s one of my biggest goals to take a trip there and meet them all in person.

5. When I was in seventh grade we did a career workshop and I decided it would be fun to become a photographer. After not being able to find very much info on photography careers, I decided it wasn’t for me and gave up the goal. Six years later during my first week of college, I changed my major on a whim and have been pursuing this adventure ever since.

6. Fall is my favorite season because of big sweaters, crunchy leaves, boots, and pumpkin spice everything. And I’m not even ashamed of it. 🙂

7. The ocean makes me nostalgic and hopeful in ways I can’t explain. I never want to live somewhere where I can’t jump in the car and spend the day taking in the sweet salty air and crashing sounds of the waves.

8. I’m notorious for losing my phone. Usually I find it in my pocket.

9. I’m unintentionally wordy and long winded. Usually because I just like being able to explain myself! Exhibit A – This Post! 😉
