I love it each time I get to see my clients for multiple “big” stages in their lives. I met Brytani and her family through MOPS, and then had the privilege of photographing her maternity session, so when she asked me to photograph newborn photos of baby Saylor, I was so excited! We met for an afternoon session at their home to document their new life with three kiddos. Their home was peaceful and calm as baby slept, and I could just feel the undertones of love and excitement as the siblings each got to hold and snuggle their new sister.

I like to keep newborn sessions easy going and light, and often take my lead from baby, photographing through those fussy, feeding, and changing moments as they come. This session was no different. We started off the session with baby Saylor’s first individual portraits. Brytani wanted to honor both of her grandmothers as part of this session, so we photographed baby Saylor surrounded by yellow flower petals, and also incorporated a special blanket into the session. As the session went on, we focused on capturing the small details of love, joy, and excitement at having a new baby in the house.
