A Thursday wedding, friends and family traveling in from all over the US, and two people who couldn’t be more perfect for each other; what could be better!? Shauntaé and Joshua’s wedding day was like a dream! They chose #asawtellfairytale as their wedding hashtag and it truly was nothing short of a magical fairytale day. Everyone in attendance was radiating in support for these two joining their lives together, and we were so honored to be able to serve them and witness their love and commitment to each other.
A few months before their wedding day I asked Josh what he was looking forward to most in marriage and he said, “Every day gets easier. It doesn’t get simpler but we learn more about each other.” I have to admit I had a major “awwwww” moment, because if that isn’t the purest statement about a strong relationship I’ve ever heard, I don’t know what is! It was clear to me then that these two truly share a strong bond, and it was even more evident when we saw and witnessed so much love and support from their loved ones on their wedding day.
We started off the wedding day by joining Shauntaé at The Butler Barn’s bridal suite. I gathered and styled some of her bridal details while Ted caught some candids of the joy and excitement that filled the room. The whole wedding day was styled in an understated elegance that honestly took my breath away! For her wedding dress, Shauntaé chose a stunning Rish Bridal gown with lovely lace accents, and wore a gorgeous pair of Christian Louboutin bridal pumps to go with it. Joshua looked dashing as ever in his grey suit and tie from The Black Tux.
Their ceremony and reception spaces, designed by Kayla Hoppins Weddings, were delicately decorated with flowers, bronze and gold vessels, and vintage elements that brought elegance to Butler Barn while also highlighting its rustic charm. Fieldwork flowers did an amazing job creating the floral elements, which were dotted with clusters of green blueberries that beautifully tied in the rows and rows of blueberry bushes that grow alongside the venue. Classic Vintage Rentals provided all of the furniture, including the stunning handmade dark wood tables used in the reception, and the vintage colored wine glasses and goblets.
During the reception, Josh and Shauntaé were celebrated with the most beautiful toasts by Shauntaé’s mom, sister, and several of their closest friends. They laughed and cried at the sweet words their friends had to share with them, and I laughed and cried too. And when S&J danced to Perfect by Ed Sheeran and Beyoncé I cried again because it was probably the sweetest first dance I’ve ever seen! After the tears and sweet moments were done, we snuck away for a few minutes to get some portraits in before the sun went down, and then headed back to join the party! The evening was full of dancing, laughter, delicious food, underwood wine, and Justin Timberlake thanks to catering by Field Day Feasts, and the amazing live performance of Dancehall Days. At the end of the night, S&J exited through a tunnel of cheering loved ones waving the coolest personalized glow sticks. It was truly a magical day, full of so much love and happiness, and we still can’t believe we had the opportunity to meet these wonderful people and be a part of such a special day in their lives.
